एवं न स्त्री न चैवाहं नाध्वगस्त्रिदशेश्वर:।
अपराध्यति धर्मस्य प्रमादस्त्वपराध्यति॥ ५०॥
अनुवाद
इस प्रकार न तो वह स्त्री दोषी है, न मैं दोषी हूँ और न ही वह देवराज इन्द्र जो ब्राह्मण वेश में आया था, दोषी है। धर्म के विषय में स्त्री का वध करने में मेरी जो लापरवाही हुई है, वही इस अपराध का मूल कारण है॥ 50॥
‘In this way neither the woman is guilty nor I am guilty nor is the king of gods Indra who came disguised as a traveller Brahmin guilty. The negligence of killing a woman in the matter of Dharma on my part is the root cause of this crime.॥ 50॥
