अतः जो रक्षा करने में समर्थ हैं, उन्हें विद्वान पुरुष शास्त्रों में श्रेष्ठ मानते हैं। उनमें से जो बहिर्मुखी हैं और हृदय में क्षणिक सुखों की इच्छा रखते हैं, वे केवल यश और मान के लिए ही रक्षा व्रत का पालन करते हैं; किन्तु जो चतुर या कुशल हैं, वे केवल परब्रह्म के पूर्ण स्वरूप को प्राप्त करने के लिए ही इस व्रत का आश्रय लेते हैं॥ 27॥
Therefore, those who are capable of giving protection are considered to be the best in the scriptures by learned men. Among them, those who are extrovert and desire temporary pleasures in their hearts, they follow the vow of giving protection only for fame and honour; but those who are clever or proficient, they take recourse to this vow only for attaining the complete form of the Supreme Brahman.॥ 27॥
