मन्त्र जप करने वालों में श्रेष्ठ जाजलि को पक्षियों के जन्म और वृद्धि की कथाएँ स्मरण हो आईं और वे अपने को महान् पुण्यात्मा समझने लगे। उन्होंने आकाश में ताली बजाते हुए स्पष्ट स्वर में कहा, "मैंने धर्म प्राप्त कर लिया है।" 41।
Jajali, the best amongst those who chanted mantras, remembered on his head the stories of the birth and growth of birds, and began to think himself to be a great virtuous man. He said in a clear voice, as if clapping in the sky, "I have attained Dharma." 41.
