जिस देश में प्रतिष्ठित ब्राह्मण लोग, जो एक घड़ा भरकर अन्न इकट्ठा करते हैं, अथवा 'ऊँच्छशील' विधि से (एक-एक करके अन्न इकट्ठा करना, या बालियाँ तोड़ना) अन्न इकट्ठा करते हैं और जो 'कपोती-वृत्ति' (जीविका कमाने का कौशल) अपनाते हैं, वह देश समृद्ध होता है ॥24॥
The country in which the respectable Brahmins who collect grain by a pot full of it or by collecting grain by the method of 'Uñchhaśīl' (picking grain individually or picking ears of grain) and who adopt the profession of 'Kapoti-vṛti' (skill in earning a living), prospers. ॥24॥
