वेदवेत्ता कहते हैं कि मास और पक्ष काल के निवास (शरीर) हैं। दिन और रात उसके आवरण (वस्त्र) हैं। ऋतुएँ द्वार (मन और इन्द्रियाँ) हैं और वर्ष उसका मुख है। वह काल आयु का रूप है॥ 46॥
The Veda-knowers say that the month and fortnight are the abode (body) of time. Day and night are its covering (clothes). The seasons are the doors (mind and senses) and the year is its mouth. That time is the form of age.॥ 46॥
