अनिष्टस्य हि निर्वृत्तिरनिर्वृत्ति: प्रियस्य च।
लक्ष्यते यतमानानां पुरुषार्थस्तत: कुत:॥ १९॥

परन्तु देखा जाता है कि जो लोग अभीष्ट प्राप्ति के लिए प्रयत्न करते हैं, उन्हें भी बुरी वस्तुएँ प्राप्त होती हैं और वे अभीष्ट प्राप्ति से वंचित रह जाते हैं; अतः प्रयत्न का महत्व कहाँ है?॥19॥
However, it is seen that those who make efforts to achieve their desired goals also get bad things and are deprived of achieving their desired goals; hence, where is the importance of effort?॥ 19॥
