श्वेतकेतुरुवाच
न विकूलोऽत्र कथितो नाकाशं हि विना जगत्।
सम्बन्धस्तत्र नास्त्येव तद्वदित्येष मन्यताम्॥
अनुवाद
श्वेतकेतु बोले, "मैंने यश के विरुद्ध कोई बात नहीं कही है। देखो, पृथ्वी या पार्थिव जगत आकाश के बिना नहीं रह सकता, तथापि, उनमें कोई शाश्वत संबंध नहीं है। शब्द और अर्थ का संबंध भी ऐसा ही मानना चाहिए।"
Swetaketu said, "I have not said anything contrary to fame. Look, the earth or the terrestrial world cannot exist without the sky, however, there is no eternal relation between them. The relation between word and meaning should also be considered the same."
