तच्छ्रुत्वा प्रत्युवाचैनां स न वक्ष्यति भामिनि।
नामगोत्रसमायुक्तमात्मानं मन्यसे यदि।
तन्मिथ्या गोत्रसद्भावे वर्तते देहबन्धनम्॥
अनुवाद
यह सुनकर श्वेतकेतु ने उससे कहा - 'भामिनी! वह कुछ नहीं कहेगा। यदि तुम यह मानती हो कि आत्मा नाम और कुल से संबंधित है, तो यह तुम्हारी मिथ्या धारणा है; क्योंकि नाम और कुल होने पर मनुष्य शरीर से बंध जाता है।'
Hearing this, Swetaketu said to her - 'Bhamini! He will not say anything. If you believe that the soul is associated with name and lineage, then this is your false notion; because on having name and lineage, one gets bound to the body.
