देवताओं ने तप किया है और दैत्यों ने अहंकार, मद आदि तपस्या में विघ्न डालने वाले अंधकार को अपनाया है; परंतु ब्रह्मतत्त्व देवताओं और दैत्यों से छिपा हुआ है; ज्ञानी पुरुष कहते हैं कि वह ज्ञानस्वरूप है॥17॥
The gods have taken to penance and the demons have adopted the darkness of arrogance, pride and other things which create obstacles in penance; but the principle of Brahman is hidden from the gods and demons; the wise men say that it is the form of knowledge.॥ 17॥
