मत्स्यो यथा स्रोत इवाभिपाती
तथा कृतं पूर्वमुपैति कर्म।
शुभे त्वसौ तुष्यति दुष्कृते तु
न तुष्यते वै परम: शरीरी॥ २४॥ |

| अनुवाद |
| जैसे मछली जल के प्रवाह के साथ बहती है, वैसे ही मनुष्य भी पूर्वकृत कर्म का अनुसरण करता है। उसे उस कर्म के प्रवाह में बहना ही पड़ता है; परंतु उस अवस्था में उत्तम शरीर में स्थित जीवात्मा शुभ फल पाकर संतुष्ट और अशुभ फल पाकर दुःखी होता है (यह उसकी मूर्खता ही है)।॥24॥ |

| Just like a fish flows with the flow of water, similarly a human follows the karma done earlier. He has to flow in the flow of that karma; but in that condition the soul in the best body is satisfied on getting auspicious results and becomes sad on getting inauspicious results (this is his foolishness only).॥24॥ |
