पञ्चात्मके पञ्चगुणप्रदर्शी
स सर्वगात्रानुगतोऽन्तरात्मा।
स वेत्ति दु:खानि सुखानि चात्र
तद्विप्रयोगात् तु न वेत्ति देह:॥ २०॥
अनुवाद
वह अन्तरात्मा ही पाँच इन्द्रियों के गुणों से युक्त मन का द्रष्टा है और वही इस पंचभौतिक शरीर के समस्त अंगों में व्याप्त होकर सुख-दुःख का अनुभव करता है। जब इसका शरीर से सम्बन्ध छूट जाता है, तब इस शरीर को सुख-दुःख का भान नहीं रहता (इससे मन से पृथक् साक्षी रूप में आत्मा का अस्तित्व स्वतः सिद्ध होता है)। 20॥
That inner soul is the observer of the mind which possesses the qualities of the five senses and it is He who experiences happiness and sorrow by pervading all the parts of this five physical body. When it loses its connection with the body, then this body is no longer aware of happiness and sorrow (this automatically proves the existence of the soul as its witness apart from the mind). 20॥
