अथवा यदि जल को कुएँ में डाला जाए या जलते हुए दीपक को जलती हुई अग्नि में डाला जाए, तो वे दोनों शीघ्र ही उनमें प्रविष्ट हो जाते हैं और अपना पृथक अस्तित्व खो देते हैं। इसी प्रकार, जब पंचतत्वीय शरीर नष्ट हो जाता है, तो आत्मा भी पंचतत्वों में विलीन होकर अपना पृथक अस्तित्व खो देती है। यदि ऐसा मान लिया जाए, तो इस पंचतत्वीय शरीर में आत्मा कहाँ है? अतः सिद्ध है कि आत्मा पंचतत्वीय समूह से पृथक नहीं है; यदि उन पाँच तत्वों में से किसी एक का भी अभाव हो, तो शेष चार भी अनुपस्थित हो जाते हैं - इसमें संशय नहीं है। ॥6-7॥
Or if water is thrown into a well or a lighted lamp is put into a burning fire, both of them soon enter into them and lose their separate existence. In the same way, when the five-element body is destroyed, the soul too must merge into the five elements and lose its separate existence. If this is assumed, then where is the soul in this body composed of five elements? Hence, it is proved that the soul is not separate from the five-elemental aggregate; if any one of those five elements is absent, the other four also become absent - there is no doubt in this. ॥ 6-7॥
