अव्याहतैश्चेतयते न वेत्ति विषमस्थितै:।
आप्याय्यन्ते च ते नित्यं धातवस्तैस्तु धातुभि:॥ ४३॥
अनुवाद
जब वायु-गुण अवरुद्ध नहीं होता और ध्वनि के साथ रहता है, तब मनुष्य ध्वनि को सुनता और समझता है; किन्तु जब वायु-गुण दीवार या प्रतिकूल वायु द्वारा अवरुद्ध हो जाता है और प्रतिकूल अवस्था में स्थित हो जाता है, तब ध्वनि का बोध नहीं होता। ध्वनि आदि उत्पन्न करने वाली धातु (इन्द्रिय-मण्डल) का पोषण धातु (इन पाँच तत्त्वों) से ही होता है।॥ 43॥
When the air-related quality is not obstructed and remains with the sound, then man hears and understands the sound; but when the air-related quality is obstructed by a wall or adverse air and is placed in an unfavorable state, then the sound is not perceived. The dhatu (sensory sphere) which produces the sound etc. is nourished by the dhatu (these five elements) only.॥ 43॥
