भीष्मजी कहते हैं - राजन! बोध्य को अपने गुरुओं से जो उपदेश मिला, उसे इस प्रकार समझना चाहिए - आशा बड़ी प्रबल है। वही सबको दुःख पहुँचाती है। निराशा ही परम सुख है। आशा को निराशा में बदलकर पिंगला नामक वेश्या शान्ति से सो गई। (पिंगला गुरु बनी, क्योंकि उसने आशा के त्याग का उपदेश दिया था)॥8॥
Bhishmaji says - King! The advice that Bodhya received from his Gurus should be understood in this way - Hope is very strong. It is the same that causes pain to everyone.
