नृशंसो दह्यते नित्यं प्रेत्य चेह च भारत।

| हे भरत! हे कुरुपुत्र! क्रूर मनुष्य इस लोक में और परलोक में भी सदा दुःख की अग्नि में जलता रहता है; अतः आप कृपा करके मुझे क्रूर मनुष्य का सच्चा परिचय और उसके धर्म-कर्म का परिचय दीजिए॥3॥ |
