इन्द्रियाणीह रक्षन्ति स्वर्गधर्माभिगुप्तये।
तस्मादर्थे च धर्मे च तपो नानशनात् परम्॥ १०॥
अनुवाद
इस संसार में धार्मिक लोग अपने धर्म की रक्षा के लिए अपनी इंद्रियों को वश में रखते हैं, जो स्वर्ग का साधन है। किन्तु धर्म और धन दोनों की सिद्धि के लिए तप ही सर्वोत्तम साधन है और उपवास से बढ़कर कोई तप नहीं है। 10॥
In this world, religious people keep their senses under control to protect their religion which is the means of heaven. But for the accomplishment of both religion and wealth, penance is the best means and there is no penance greater than fasting. 10॥
