वे दोष और क्रोध में फँसकर शिष्टाचार त्याग देते हैं और बाहर से मधुर वचन बोलते हुए भी भीतर से अत्यन्त कठोर हो जाते हैं। उनकी स्थिति घास-फूस से ढके हुए कुएँ के समान है। वे क्षुद्र मनुष्य धर्म के नाम पर संसार को ठगते हुए, धर्म के ध्वजवाहक बनकर (धर्म का ढोंग फैलाकर) संसार को लूटते हैं।॥17-18॥
They abandon etiquette after getting entangled in faults and anger and despite speaking sweet words from outside, they become very harsh from inside. Their condition is like a well covered with weeds. Those petty men who deceive the world in the name of religion, become flag bearers of religion (spreading the pretense of religion) and loot the world.॥17-18॥
