न प्रहृष्यति यो लाभै: कामैर्यश्च न तृप्यति॥ १३॥
यो न देवैर्न गन्धर्वैर्नासुरैर्न महोरगै:।
ज्ञायते नृप तत्त्वेन सर्वैर्भूतगणैस्तथा॥ १४॥
अनुवाद
लोभी मनुष्य बहुत-सा लाभ पाकर भी संतुष्ट नहीं होता। वह सुखों से कभी संतुष्ट नहीं होता। हे मनुष्यों के स्वामी! न तो देवता, न गंधर्व, न राक्षस, न बड़े-बड़े सर्प और न ही समस्त प्राणी लोभ के वास्तविक स्वरूप को जानते हैं॥ 13-14॥
A greedy man is not satisfied even after getting a lot of benefits. He is never satisfied with pleasures. O Lord of men! Neither the gods, nor the Gandharvas, nor the demons, nor the big serpents, nor all the living creatures know the true nature of greed.॥ 13-14॥
