यह जीव जगत स्वार्थ का साथी है। कोई किसी का प्रिय नहीं है। यहाँ तक कि दो सगे भाइयों और पति-पत्नी के बीच का प्रेम भी स्वार्थ पर आधारित है। मैं इस संसार में किसी के प्रेम को अकारण (स्वार्थपूर्ण) नहीं मानता।॥152 1/2॥
‘This living world is a companion of selfishness. No one is dear to anyone. Even the love between two real brothers and husband and wife is also based on selfishness. I do not consider anyone's love in this world to be without reason (selfish).॥ 152 1/2॥
