परंतप पितामह! यह कार्य सब कार्यों में श्रेष्ठ है। सत्यनिष्ठ और अपनी इन्द्रियों को वश में रखने वाले भीष्म के अतिरिक्त अन्य कोई भी इसे बताने वाला नहीं है। इसे सुनने वाला मिलना अत्यंत दुर्लभ है। अतः हे महामुने! इसका अनुसंधान करके मुझे यह सम्पूर्ण विषय बताइए। ॥10-11॥
