युधिष्ठिर उवाच
सर्वत्र बुद्धि: कथिता श्रेष्ठा ते भरतर्षभ।
अनागता तथोत्पन्ना दीर्घसूत्रा विनाशिनी॥ १॥
अनुवाद
युधिष्ठिर बोले - भरतश्रेष्ठ! आपने जहाँ-जहाँ अनागत (संकट आने से पहले ही आत्मरक्षा का प्रबन्ध कर लेने वाली) और प्रत्युपन्न (समय रहते अपनी रक्षा का उपाय सोचने वाली) बुद्धि का वर्णन किया है, वह बुद्धि श्रेष्ठ है और जो बुद्धि आलस्य के कारण प्रत्येक कार्य में विलम्ब करती है, वह विनाशक है।॥1॥
Yudhishthir said – Bharatshreshtha! Everywhere you have described Anagata (which makes arrangements for self-defense even before the crisis) and Pratyupanna (which thinks of a way to save itself in time) intelligence is superior and the intelligence which delays in every task due to laziness is destructive. 1॥
