वैदिक कर्म ही ब्राह्मण के लिए स्वर्ग प्राप्ति का सर्वोत्तम मार्ग हैं। इसके अतिरिक्त ऋषियों ने कहा है कि समस्त कर्म वैदिक मंत्रों द्वारा ही सिद्ध हो सकते हैं। वेदों में इन कर्मों का दृढ़तापूर्वक प्रतिपादन किया गया है; अतः यहाँ उन कर्मों के अनुष्ठान से ही अभीष्ट सिद्धि प्राप्त होती है। प्रायः सभी प्राणी मास, पक्ष, ऋतु, सूर्य, चन्द्रमा और तारों के अनुसार मनाए जाने वाले यज्ञों को यथासम्भव करने का प्रयत्न करते हैं। यज्ञ करना ही कर्म कहलाता है। जिस गृहस्थ आश्रम में ये कर्म किए जाते हैं, वही पुण्य सिद्धि का क्षेत्र है और यही सबसे बड़ा आश्रम है। 13-15॥
Vedic deeds are the best path for a Brahmin to attain heaven. Apart from this, the sages have said that all the deeds can be accomplished only through Vedic mantras. These deeds have been strongly enunciated in the Vedas; Therefore, the desired achievement is achieved here only by the ritual of those deeds. Almost all living beings try to perform the yagyas celebrated by the month, paksha, season, sun, moon and stars as much as possible. Performing Yagyas is called Karma. The household ashram where these actions are performed is the area of virtuous accomplishment and this is the greatest ashram. 13-15॥
