जो लोग अध्ययन करके भी गुरु का आदर नहीं करते, मन, वाणी और कर्म से उनके समीप रहकर उनकी सेवा नहीं करते, वे गर्भ में ही शिशु की हत्या से भी अधिक पाप करते हैं। संसार में उनसे बड़ा पापी कोई नहीं है। जिस प्रकार गुरुओं का कर्तव्य है कि वे अपने शिष्यों को आत्म-सुधार के मार्ग पर चलाएँ, उसी प्रकार शिष्यों का कर्तव्य है कि वे अपने गुरुओं की पूजा करें॥23॥
Those who do not respect their Guru despite studying, do not serve them by staying close to them through their mind, speech and actions, commit a sin worse than killing a child in the womb. There is no one greater sinner than them in the world. Just as it is the duty of the Gurus to guide their disciples on the path of self-improvement, similarly it is the duty of the disciples to worship their Gurus.॥23॥
