अवध्या हि सदा माता पिता चाप्यपकारिणौ॥ २०॥
न संदुष्यति तत् कृत्वा न च ते दूषयन्ति तम्।
धर्माय यतमानानां विदुर्देवा महर्षिभि:॥ २१॥
अनुवाद
माता-पिता यदि कोई अपराध भी करते हैं, तो भी वे सदैव अक्षुण्ण रहते हैं; क्योंकि माता-पिता और गुरु के प्रति अपराध करने पर भी पुत्र या शिष्य उनकी दृष्टि में अपवित्र नहीं होता। प्रेमवश गुरु पुत्र या शिष्य को दोष नहीं देते; अपितु उसे सदैव धर्म के मार्ग पर ले जाने का प्रयत्न करते हैं। ऐसे गुरुओं का महत्व, जिनमें महर्षि भी सम्मिलित हैं, केवल देवता ही जानते हैं।
Even if the parents commit any crime, they are always inviolable; because even after committing a crime against the parents and the Guru, the son or the disciple does not become impure in their eyes. Out of love, the Gurus do not blame the son or the disciple; rather they always try to lead him on the path of religion. The importance of such Gurus including the great sages is known only to the Gods.
