नेमे मृगा: स्वर्गजितो न वराहा न पक्षिण:।
अथान्येन प्रकारेण पुण्यमाहुर्न तं जना:॥ २३॥
अनुवाद
सदा वन में रहने पर भी न तो मृग, न सूअर और न ही पक्षी स्वर्ग पर अधिकार कर पाए हैं। पुण्य की प्राप्ति अन्य प्रकार से बताई गई है। सज्जन पुरुष केवल वन में रहने को ही पुण्य नहीं मानते॥23॥
Despite living in the forest all the time, neither the deer nor the pigs and birds have been able to gain control of the heaven. The attainment of virtue has been described in other ways. The noble men do not consider only living in the forest to be virtuous.॥23॥
