भरतश्रेष्ठ! प्रतीप के तीन पुत्र हुए- देवापि, शान्तनु और महारथी बाह्लीक। इनमें से देवापि धर्मपूर्वक आचरण द्वारा कल्याण की इच्छा से वन में चले गए, अतः शान्तनु और महारथी बाह्लीक ने इस पृथ्वी का राज्य प्राप्त किया। 61-62॥
Bharatshrestha! Pratip had three sons – Devapi, Shantanu and Maharathi Bahlika. Of these, Devapi went to the forest with the desire to attain welfare through religious conduct, hence Shantanu and Maharathi Bahlika attained the kingdom of this earth. 61-62॥
