परीक्षित के सभी पुत्र धर्म और अर्थ के ज्ञाता थे; जिनके नाम इस प्रकार हैं- कक्षसेन, उग्रसेन, पराक्रमी चित्रसेन, इन्द्रसेन, सुषेण और भीमसेन। जनमेजय के पराक्रमी पुत्र जगत में विख्यात हुए। इनमें प्रथम पुत्र का नाम धृतराष्ट्र था। इनसे छोटे क्रमशः पाण्डु, बाह्लीक, महातेजस्वी निषाद, बलवान जम्बूनद, कुण्डोदर, पदाति और वसति थे। वसति उनमें आठवें थे। ये सभी धर्म और अर्थशास्त्र में कुशल थे और समस्त प्राणियों के कल्याण में तत्पर रहते थे।
All the sons of Parikshit were knowledgeable about religion and artha; Whose names are as follows – Kakshasen, Ugrasen, mighty Chitrasen, Indrasen, Sushen and Bhimsen. The mighty son of Janamejaya was famous in the world. Among them, the name of the first son was Dhritarashtra. Younger than them respectively were Pandu, Bahlika, Mahatejasvi Nishadha, strong Jambunad, Kundodar, Padati and Vasati. Vasati was eighth among them. All of them were skilled in religion and economics and were engaged in the welfare of all living beings. 54-57॥
