देवयान्युवाच
(अभ्यागच्छति मां कश्चिदृषिरित्येवमब्रवी:।
ययातिमेव नूनं त्वं प्रोत्साहयसि भामिनि॥
पूर्वमेव मया प्रोक्तं त्वया तु वृजिनं कृतम्।)
मदधीना सती कस्मादकार्षीर्विप्रियं मम।
तमेवासुरधर्मं त्वमास्थिता न बिभेषि मे॥ १९॥ |

| देवयानी बोली— भामिनी! तुम तो कहती थीं कि कोई ऋषि मेरे पास आते हैं। इसी बहाने तुम राजा ययाति को अपने पास आने के लिए उकसाती रहती थीं। मैंने तो तुम्हें पहले ही बता दिया था कि तुमने कोई पाप किया है। शर्मिष्ठा! मेरे वश में होकर भी तुमने ऐसा आचरण क्यों किया जो मुझे बुरा लगा? तुम फिर वही राक्षसी आचरण करने लगी हो। क्या तुम्हें मुझसे तनिक भी भय नहीं लगता?॥19॥ |
