नाध्यगच्छत् तदा तृप्तिं कामानां स महायशा:।
अवेत्य मनसा राजन्निमां गाथां तदा जगौ॥ ४९॥ |

| परन्तु उस समय भी महायशस्वी ययाति विषय-भोगों से तृप्त न हो सके। हे राजन! उन्होंने गहन विचार करके निश्चय किया कि विषय-भोगों को भोगने से विषय-भोगों की इच्छा कभी तृप्त नहीं हो सकती। तब राजा ने (जगत के हित के लिए) यह कथा गाई-॥49॥ |

| But even at that time the illustrious Yayati could not get satisfied with sensual pleasures. O King! After thinking deeply he decided that the desire for sensual pleasures can never be satisfied by enjoying sensual pleasures. Then the king sang this story (for the benefit of the world) -॥ 49॥ |
