वैशम्पायन कहते हैं - हे राजन! समस्त प्राणियों के रचयिता भगवान ब्रह्मा ने यह कहकर पृथ्वी को विदा किया और सभी देवताओं को आदेश दिया - 'हे देवताओं! इस पृथ्वी का भार उतारने के लिए तुम लोग अपने-अपने अंशों से पृथ्वी के विभिन्न भागों में पृथक-पृथक जन्म लो। वहाँ तुम्हें दैत्यों से युद्ध करके अभीष्ट उद्देश्य की प्राप्ति करनी होगी।'
Vaishampayana says - O King! Lord Brahma, the creator of all beings, having said this, bid farewell to the earth and ordered all the gods - 'O Gods! To relieve the burden of this earth, you should take separate births in different parts of the earth from your own parts. There you will have to fight the demons and achieve the desired objective.'
