जो राजा इस महाभारत को सुनता है, वह सम्पूर्ण पृथ्वी का राज्य भोगता है। यदि गर्भवती स्त्री इसे सुनती है, तो वह पुत्र को जन्म देती है। यदि कोई कुमारी कन्या इसे सुनती है, तो उसका शीघ्र ही विवाह हो जाता है। यदि व्यापारी और वैश्य महाभारत सुनते हैं, तो उनकी व्यापार यात्रा सफल होती है। वीर सैनिक इसे सुनकर युद्ध में विजय प्राप्त करते हैं। जो ब्राह्मण आस्तिक हैं और दोष-निरोध से मुक्त हैं, उन्हें इसे प्रतिदिन सुनना चाहिए। जो विजयी क्षत्रिय वेदों का अध्ययन करके और ब्रह्मचर्य व्रत पूरा करके स्नातक बन गए हैं, उन्हें तथा जो वैश्य स्वधर्म में तत्पर हैं और क्षत्रियों के अधीन रहते हैं, उन्हें भी महाभारत सुनना चाहिए।
The king who listens to this Mahabharata enjoys the kingdom of the entire earth. If a pregnant woman listens to it, she gives birth to a son. If a virgin girl listens to it, she gets married soon. If the merchants and Vaishyas listen to the Mahabharata, their journey for business becomes successful. Brave soldiers get victory in war by listening to it. Those Brahmins who are believers and free from fault-finding should listen to it daily. Those victorious Kshatriyas who have become graduates after studying the Vedas and completing the vow of celibacy, and those Vaishyas who are devoted to their own religion and live under the Kshatriyas should also listen to the Mahabharata.
