यदधीतं पुरा सम्यग् द्विजश्रेष्ठैर्महात्मभि:।
वैशम्पायनविप्राग्र्यैस्तैश्चापि कथितं यथा॥ ४॥ |

| सारथिपुत्र उग्रश्रवण ने कहा: 'भृगु नन्दन! मैं उन पुराणों को जानता हूँ जिन्हें वैशम्पायन आदि महापुरुषों तथा महापुरुषों ने पूर्वकाल में भली-भाँति पढ़ा था और उन विद्वानों ने पुराणों का जिस प्रकार वर्णन किया है। |
