तथैव कृत्वा विवरं प्रविश्य स
प्रभुर्भुवो भुजगवराग्रज: स्थित:।
बिभर्ति देवीं शिरसा महीमिमां
समुद्रनेमिं परिगृह्य सर्वत:॥ २२॥ |

| उग्रश्रवाजी कहते हैं - सर्पराज वासुकि के बड़े भाई सर्वशक्तिमान भगवान शेष ने 'बहुत अच्छा' कहकर ब्रह्माजी की आज्ञा स्वीकार की और पृथ्वी की गुहा में प्रवेश करके उन्होंने चारों ओर से समुद्र से घिरी हुई इस पृथ्वी माता को पकड़कर अपने सिर पर धारण कर लिया (तब से पृथ्वी स्थिर हो गई)।॥22॥ |
