स तस्मिन् सत्रे समाप्ते हास्तिनपुरं प्रत्येत्य पुरोहितमनुरूपमन्विच्छमान: परं यत्नमकरोद् यो मे पापकृत्यां शमयेदिति॥ ११॥
अनुवाद
उस सत्र के समापन के पश्चात वे हस्तिनापुर आये और इस प्रयोजन के लिए एक योग्य पुरोहित की खोज करने लगे। पुरोहित को खोजने का उद्देश्य यह था कि वह अपने इस शाप रूपी पाप कर्म (जो बल, आयु और जीवन का नाश करने वाला है) को शांत कर दे।
