तब वरुण ने अग्निदेव से कहा, 'मैं इसे अभी तुम्हें देता हूँ' और उन्हें गाण्डीव मणि के समान धनुष तथा बाणों से भरे हुए दो अक्षय एवं विशाल तरकश दिए। वह धनुष अद्भुत था। उसमें महान शक्ति थी और वह यश तथा कीर्ति की वृद्धि करने वाला था। वह किसी भी अस्त्र से टूट नहीं सकता था और उसमें अन्य सभी अस्त्रों को नष्ट करने की शक्ति थी। उसका आकार सभी अस्त्रों से बड़ा था। शत्रु सेना को बींधने वाला वह एक धनुष अन्य एक लाख धनुषों के बराबर था। वह अद्वितीय था और उसे धारण करने वाले के राष्ट्र की वृद्धि करता था। वह अनेक प्रकार के रंगों से शोभायमान था। वह चिकना और छिद्ररहित था। देवता, दानव और गंधर्वों ने अनंत वर्षों तक उसकी पूजा की।
Then Varuna said to Agnidev, 'I will give it to you right now' and gave him the bow like the jewel of Gandiva and two inexhaustible and large quivers full of arrows. That bow was wonderful. It had great power and it increased fame and glory. It could not be broken by any weapon and it had the power to destroy all other weapons. Its size was bigger than all weapons. That one bow, which pierced the enemy army, was equal to a lakh other bows. It was unique and enhanced the nation of the one who wore it. It was beautiful with many kinds of colors. It was smooth and without any holes. Gods, demons and Gandharvas worshipped it for infinite years. 6-9.
