इस पर्व में क्षीरसागर के मंथन तथा उच्चै:श्रवा नामक घोड़े के जन्म की कथा भी है। परीक्षित-नन्दन राजा जनमेजय के सर्पयज्ञ में भरतवंशी इन महात्मा राजाओं की कथा कही गई है। संभवपर्व में राजाओं की नाना प्रकार की जन्म-संबंधी कथाओं का वर्णन है। इसमें अन्य योद्धाओं तथा महर्षि द्वैपायन के जन्म की कथा भी है। यहीं पर देवताओं के अंशावतार की कथा कही गई है। 91-93॥
