सभी महाकवि इस महाभारत कथा का आश्रय लेते हैं और लेंगे भी। जैसे उन्नति चाहने वाले सेवक महान गुरु का आश्रय लेते हैं। जैसे अन्य तीन आश्रम उत्तम गृहस्थ आश्रम से श्रेष्ठ नहीं हो सकते, वैसे ही संसार के कवि इस महाभारत काव्य से श्रेष्ठ काव्य रचने में समर्थ नहीं हो सकते ॥389-390॥
All the great poets take shelter of this Mahabharata story and will take shelter of it. Just like servants who want to progress take shelter of a great master. Just like the other three ashramas cannot be better than the excellent householder ashram, in the same way the poets of the world cannot be capable of creating poems better than this Mahabharata poem. ॥389-390॥
