महर्षि धौम्य के उपदेश से उन्हें सूर्यदेव का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त हुआ और अक्षय अन्न का पात्र प्राप्त हुआ । उधर विदुरजी धृतराष्ट्र को हितकर उपदेश दे रहे थे, परन्तु धृतराष्ट्र ने उनका परित्याग कर दिया । धृतराष्ट्र के परित्याग करने पर विदुरजी पाण्डवों के पास गए और फिर धृतराष्ट्र की आज्ञा पाकर उनके पास लौट आए । कर्ण के प्रोत्साहन से धृतराष्ट्रनन्दन दुर्मति दुर्योधन ने वनवासी पाण्डवों का वध करने का विचार किया । 145—147॥

On the other hand, Vidurji was giving beneficial advice to Dhritarashtra, but Dhritarashtra abandoned him. On Dhritarashtra's abandonment, Vidurji went to the Pandavas and then returned to them after receiving Dhritarashtra's orders. Dhritarashtranandan Durmati Duryodhana, with the encouragement of Karna, thought of killing the forest-dwelling Pandavas. 145—147॥
