यावदेतान् न जानन्ति जीवतो वृष्णिपुङ्गवा:।
चैद्यश्च पुरुषव्याघ्र: शिशुपाल: प्रतापवान्॥
अनुवाद
जब तक वृष्णि वंश के श्रेष्ठ योद्धाओं को यह पता न चल जाए कि पाण्डव जीवित हैं, जब तक नरसिंह चेदिराज और पराक्रमी शिशुपाल भी इस तथ्य से अनभिज्ञ न हो जाए, तब तक पाण्डवों का वध कर दिया जाए।
