स एवमुक्तो दु:खार्त: सत्यवागृषिसत्तम:।
सर्वलोकविनाशाय मतिं चक्रे महामना:॥ ९॥

अपनी माता की यह बात सुनकर सत्यनिष्ठ और महान् ऋषि पराशर शोक से भर गए और उन्होंने तुरन्त ही समस्त लोकों का नाश करने का विचार किया॥9॥
On hearing his mother say this, the great sage Parashar, who was truthful and great, was filled with grief. He immediately thought of destroying all the worlds.॥ 9॥
