'देवी! राजा धृतराष्ट्र का जन्म कुरुवंश के वैभव और वंश का नाश करने के लिए हुआ है। उनका मन अपने पुत्रों के प्रति मोह से भरा हुआ है, इसलिए वे सनातन धर्म का परित्याग कर रहे हैं। हे शुभ! यह नाव जलमार्ग में तैयार खड़ी है, जो वायु और तरंगों के वेग को भली-भाँति सहन कर सकती है। इसी से (अन्यत्र जाकर) आप अपने पुत्रों सहित मृत्यु के पाश से बच सकेंगी।'॥6-7॥
‘Goddess! King Dhritarashtra has been born to destroy the glory and lineage of the Kuru clan. His mind is filled with affection for his sons, so he is abandoning the eternal religion. O auspicious one! This boat is ready on the path of water, which can withstand the speed of wind and waves very well. By this (by going somewhere else) you along with your sons will be able to escape the noose of death.'॥ 6-7॥
