वैशम्पायन कहते हैं, "तब पराक्रमी द्रोण ने अपना धनुष-बाण लेकर उससे अँगूठी को छेद दिया और उसे बाहर निकाल लिया। इस प्रकार शक्तिशाली द्रोण ने बाण सहित अँगूठी को कुएँ से बाहर निकाला और आश्चर्यचकित राजकुमारों को दे दिया; किन्तु वे स्वयं बिल्कुल भी आश्चर्यचकित नहीं हुए। कुएँ से निकाली गई अँगूठी को देखकर उन राजकुमारों ने द्रोण से कहा। 31-33।
Vaishampayana says, "Then the mighty Drona took his bow and arrow and pierced the ring with it and brought it out. The powerful Drona thus brought out the ring along with the arrow from the well and gave it to the astonished princes; but they themselves were not at all astonished. Seeing the ring taken out of the well, those princes said to Drona. 31-33.
