इस प्रकार द्रोण कुछ समय तक वहाँ छिपकर रहे। तत्पश्चात् एक दिन कौरवों और पाण्डवों के सभी वीर पुत्र हस्तिनापुर से निकलकर वहाँ आनन्दपूर्वक गुल्ली-डंडा खेलने लगे। खेलते-खेलते उन पुत्रों की गुल्ली कुएँ में गिर गई॥16-17॥
In this way Drona lived there for some time hiding himself. Thereafter one day all the brave sons of Kauravas and Pandavas came out of Hastinapur and happily started playing gulli-danda there. While they were playing the game, the gulli of those sons fell into the well.॥16-17॥
