गौतम (शरद्वान्) भी उस आश्रम से चले गए और धनुर्वेद का अभ्यास करने लगे। यह सोचकर कि उन्होंने इन बालकों का पालन-पोषण दयापूर्वक किया है, राजा शांतनु ने उनके वही नाम रखे - कृप और कृपी। गौतम को अपनी आध्यात्मिक शक्तियों से राजा द्वारा पाले गए अपने दोनों बालकों की स्थिति का पता चल गया।
Gautam (Sharadvan) also went away from that hermitage and started practicing Dhanurveda. Thinking that he had brought up these children with kindness, King Shantanu gave them the same names - Kripa and Kripi. Gautam came to know about the condition of his two children brought up by the king through his spiritual powers.
