हे जनमेजय! कुरुवंश के प्रमुखों तथा नगर के अन्य निवासियों के घरों में सदैव यही शब्द सुनाई देते थे कि 'दान दो और अतिथियों को भोजन कराओ।'॥16॥
O Janamejaya! In the houses of the heads of the Kuru clan and other residents of the city, one could always hear the same words: 'Give alms and feed the guests.'॥ 16॥
