श्री चैतन्य महाप्रभु ने कहा, "चंद्रमा और कमल पुष्प पर विजय प्राप्त करने के बाद, कृष्ण ने हिरणी जैसी गोपियों को बंदी बनाना चाहा। इसलिए उन्होंने अपने सुंदर मुख का पाश फैलाया और उस पाश में गोपियों को गुमराह करने के लिए अपनी मधुर मुस्कान का चारा डाला। गोपियाँ उस जाल में फँस गईं और कृष्ण की दासियाँ बन गईं, उन्होंने अपना घर, परिवार, पति और प्रतिष्ठा त्याग दी।"
Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu said, "After conquering the moon and the lotus, Krishna wanted to capture the deer-like gopis. So he spread the snare of his beautiful face and placed the bait of his sweet laughter in it to ensnare the gopis. The gopis fell prey to that snare, abandoning their homes, families, husbands, and prestige to become Krishna's slaves.
