दार्शनिक चिंतन के मार्ग पर दो प्रकार के उपासक होते हैं - एक को ब्रह्म-उपासक कहा जाता है, जो निराकार ब्रह्म का उपासक है, और दूसरे को मोक्षकांक्षी कहा जाता है, जो मुक्ति की इच्छा रखता है।
