जब रघुनाथ युवा हुए, तो वे जगन्नाथ पुरी में भगवान चैतन्य महाप्रभु के दर्शन करने गए और वहाँ आठ महीने तक रहे। कभी-कभी वे भगवान को प्रसाद भी चढ़ाते थे।
