बीभत्सस्य भवेच् छान्तो हास्यः प्रीतिस् तथा सुहृत् ।

"तपस्वी-शांत-रस, हास्य-रस और दास्य-रस बीभत्स-रस के लिए अनुकूल हैं। मधुर और सख्य-रस बीभत्स-रस के लिए प्रतिकूल हैं। इस प्रकार, तर्क से कोई रस के अन्य मित्रों और शत्रुओं को समझ सकता है।"
"The ascetic-shanta-rasa, hasya-rasa and dasya-rasa are favorable to the bibhatsa-rasa. Madhura and sakhya-rasas are unfavorable to the bibhatsa-rasa. Thus, by reasoning one can understand the other friends and enemies of the rasa."
