अर्धाङ्गुलान्तरोन्मानं तारादि-विवराष्टकम् ।
ततः सार्धाङ्गुलाद् यत्र मुख-रन्ध्रं तथाङ्गुलम् ॥२.१.३६८॥
शिरो वेदाङ्गुलं पुच्छं त्र्य्-अङ्गुलं सा तु वंशिका ।
नव-रन्ध्रा स्मृता सप्त-दशाङ्गुल-मिता बुधैः ॥२.१.३६९॥ |

| "वंशिका सत्रह अंगुल लंबी (12.75 इंच) होती है और इसमें नौ छेद होते हैं। स्वर बजाने के लिए आठ छेदों का व्यास आधा अंगुल होता है और उनके बीच आधी अंगुल की दूरी होती है। फूंक मारने के लिए एक छेद आठवें छेद से डेढ़ अंगुल की दूरी पर होता है और उसका व्यास एक अंगुल होता है। बाँसुरी के शीर्ष पर चार अंगुल और सिरे पर तीन अंगुल का स्थान शेष रहता है।" |
